SYAKA Mission Statement:
Spouses of Yuma Area Kickball Association (SYAKA) is a kickball league made up of female spouses of active duty Marines and Sailors with varying athletic abilities from MCAS Yuma. SYAKA's foundation is made up of three pillars: Camaraderie, Charity and Competition. The three pillars enhance spouses' resiliency to Marine Corps life and stressors by building friendships, individual confidence as a player through fun competition and leadership opportunities and pride by giving back to others within the Marine Corps community. SYAKA provides spouses a unique opportunity to get involved, represent and support their Marine's and Sailor's unit.
This league is about getting to know other spouses, getting out of the house and out of comfort zones to have fun! We have crazy hats we wear, chairs we sit in on the field, cups of water that we run the bases with and so much more! This is not your average kickball league!
