The Auburn United FC, formerly called the Auburn A-Team Boys Soccer Club, believes that playing for your school during the Fall Outdoor Season is a priority for all student athletes. For many years, boys soccer in the Auburn area has had its ups and downs. While Auburn always had a school team, after the Fall Season ended, so did training.
We would field an Indoor Team and play against teams that seemed beyond our level of play. We lost more than our share of games, leaving our players frustrated and defeated. What other communities had that we did not was YEARS of playing together primarily due to their feeder programs where training begins as early as age five. Any of our parents watching could tell you that it was not through lack of drive or heart, but rather lack of experience and COMRADERY. THIS ENDS NOW!
A New Beginning: It was clear that to play at a competitive level an organized, off-season, program was desperately needed. The Auburn United FC was created to build an Auburn Soccer Community. The pillars of our club are to: HAVE FUN and PLAY HARD, giving 100% effort. We believe these to be interchangeable: if you are having fun, you will play hard and if you are playing hard, you will have fun.
The focus of our club is to utilize time off-season, by participating in Indoor Leagues, Summer Clinics and Tournaments. Through each session, we practice one-two times a week, for at least an hour indoor and two hours for practice outdoors. We currently participate in U14 and High School level leagues, with plans to add U10 and U12 teams this summer.
We learned that we already had tremendous assets of parents and alumni within our community that are willing to lend their time and experience. We just needed to get organized and bring everyone together. We are honored to have these parents and alumni players volunteer their time to run workouts and offer specialized training for smaller groups, such as goalies. We encourage positive leadership by our senior players and hope to create a sense of 'family', where the younger players will learn from the older players and carry on those traditions.
The AUFC gives our boys an opportunity to continue training through their own club that is local. Players will build comradery among teammates, hone their skills and have fun while doing it.
They say that nothing worth doing is easy. Like every successful venture, there are bumps in the road. Establishing a soccer club, during a pandemic, was one large 'Bump' but after the shut down in March, and cancellation of sports, the reception we received was overwhelming. We are beyond thankful for our members support and patience.
