Welcome to Junior Sailing,

Junior Sailing will start next Friday, June 7 at 5:00PM at Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club. The address is 601 W. Montrose Ave. There is free street parking, but it can get busy on the weekends. There is also paid parking located in the park as well.

Some things your child should expect for their first session: we will be conducting swim tests and capsize drills the first day of your child’s attendance. They will complete the swim test with their life jacket on.They are also required to wear close-toed shoes for the swim test, capsize drill, and while sailing.  Please bring a towel and change of clothes for after the swim and capsize drills. It will be a shorter session because we only have them perform those two drills. The following sessions will be longer as students will go sailing out on the water.

Beginners start sailing in the Prams, Optimists and 420s. They work on learning how to properly rig the boats and the basics of sailing.
