Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for getting the boys registered for the summer. As of right now we have over 40 kids signed up to play Little League this summer! We are excited to get the season started.
The season schedule is attached to this message and is also available on the Rec Districts facebook page.
Some information for before the season starts:
For practices and games your son will need:
Grey baseball pants
Glove
Baseball shoes
Water Bottle
Reminder: This is recreration baseball, not travel baseball. The coaches will do the best job they can to split the teams evenly and maximize everyones opportunity to play and develop. We will post who is one which team once we've had a few days to practice.
The more opportunities to play different spots in the field and compete, we hope, will be better for them in the long run. We want the kids to enjoy the game and focus on improving their skills.
Brent Engebretson, his son blake, and Marcus Hagness are the three coaches ready to go right now. We are working on some high school baseball players to come help out when they can. Some may just be there to help at practice and some may be there for games as well. We've had good luck in the past with those guys helping the next group of players coming through and want to keep that going as much as we can.
We look forward to getting started with everyone in just two weeks and have a fun summer of baseball!

Hello! For any girls going into 10U or 12U softball this summer, there will be an informal open gym Sunday (tomorrow) at 1 p.m. at the Hillsboro Armory for pitchers and a session starting at about 1:45 for all skills, probably wrapping up around 3 p.m.
For any pitchers, please bring a catcher (parent, sibling, or teammate) to catch! We'll try to shake off some rust and give you some tools and things to work on to keep developing as a pitcher!
For everyone else who wants to attend the all skills work (fielding and hitting), we'll do some tee work, face some front toss and/or the pitching machine, take some fly balls and grounders and work on our throwing a little bit!
If we have a decent reception, we'll try to do this a few more weeks here leading into the spring!
Registration for summer activities will be coming up soon and I intend on sending our teams to some tournaments this summer, so I want to get these girls ready!

Last time I'll bug people this year!
10U softball parents/girls who went to 10U state this weekend, if any of you are interested, Dakota Selects 10U was hoping to play some for-fun games with some local teams as they look forward to playing at 10U B Northern Nationals in Fargo later this month.
We wouldn't have any concessions and I wouldn't be able to coach (Mike has offered to), but would any of our 10U players be interested in playing a game or two tomorrow night starting at 6 pm in Hillsboro? It would be two 5-inning games. Just looking to get 10-11 girls together if possible. Probably get there around 5:10 to get ready for the games? Thompson could send a handful of players, as well, to help us fill out a team as Thompson's 10U is hoping to play them next week in Hillsboro. Please let me know.
Finally, 10U/12U softball jersey return – please return your washed uniform tops to me next week at the Hillsboro Banner office across from the Dollar General! Our numbers keep growing, so we need to keep track of how many uniforms we have/need every year. Thank you so much!!

12U softball parents, slight change to the schedule tomorrow for the league tourney: both the 12U teams now play at 9 am tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Central Cass School! Both play against Casselton teams. 12U White is on Field 1 and 12U Blue on Field 2.
