Northland Softball Academy was developed by Winnetonka Head Coach Marc Asquith through his desire to provide girls in the KC Metro area an opportunity to leave a legacy on and off the field. Coach Asquith teamed up with other schools in the Northland to expand tournament opportunity for girls who might have otherwise been able to play. Coach Asquith and his wife Nicole have a vision to give back to the community and leave an positive impact on everyone they meet.
Eden Viles is a Senior at Winnetonka High School graduating in 2019 and the Head Coach of the NSA 12U C Team. She is an all around athlete that has played competitive club fastpitch since 2011. Through hardships and personal trials, softball remained a constant friend that helped her grow and become more resilient. When asked if she wanted to coach a 12 U team, Eden didn't have to think twice the answer was yes. She has a heart to mentor and develop young women to not only be great on the field but be all around academic athletes that are confident and strong. "Failure is fine as long as you recover and learn from it"
Eden's mother, Kimberly Komar has spent the last 23 years serving the US Army and most recently as a Master Sergeant working in Recruiting and Retention. She is a Master Resiliency Trainer, Certified Instructor, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and has her Bachelors of Science in Organizational Leaders, and is completing her Masters in Strategic Leadership. She had developed several programs utilized by local high schools and colleges that aim at emotional and mental resiliency of young women. Kim was a gymnast and a gymnastic coach and while she has never played softball she is well versed in conditioning, physical performance and the athletic mind. Kim is the assistant coach for the NSA-12U C Team.
Eden and Kim are honored to be able to work aside each other to enrich the lives of our future generation.
