My Story

Abraham Lincoln High School 2010-2014 Skyline Community College 2014-present Cheray kicked off her athletic career in the 7th grade at Aptos Middle School. She took on various sports such as volleyball, basketball, softball, and track and field. She was very motivated by keeping her grades up while balancing the different seasons of sports. After graduating Aptos Middle School in 2010, Cheray started summer workouts at Abraham Lincoln High School where she was introduced to Olympic weightlifting. Cheray then started to compete in many local tournaments moving on to national tournaments where she placed 3rd in the 53kg weight class at the School Age Championship in 2011. While balancing her weightlifting career Cheray also participated on the junior varsity basketball team her freshman year. Cheray's hard work and commitment on and off the court gave her the opportunity to move up to varsity during freshman year. She was rewarded with most valuable player and most promising. She also participated in asian league tournaments, summer leagues, and draft leagues throughout high school. Cheray wanted to stay active during the offseason by joining the junior varsity volleyball team and a volleyball club team her sophomore year playing as an outside hitter. Cheray also joined the tennis team her junior year playing on the varsity doubles team placing 2nd in the All-City finals. Cheray is attending Skyline Community College fulfilling her AA in Business Marketing while exploring numerous colleges for transfer to complete her education goals. She is currently playing basketball in a Women Spring Draft League with some of her old teammates.
