Jeff Garcia is a former National Football League (NFL) quarterback. After attending high school and junior college in Gilroy, California, Garcia played college football at San Jose State University. A four-time CFL All-Star, Garcia began his professional football career with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1994. In 1999, Garcia debuted in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Francisco 49ers. With the 49ers, Garcia made three Pro Bowl appearances (for the 2000, 2001, and 2002 seasons) and led the team to the playoffs in the 2001 and 2002 seasons. He set the all-time single season passing yardage mark with 4,278 yards and is the only QB in their storied history to have 3 consecutive seasons of 3000 plus passing yards. Not bad for a guy who was overlooked in the NFL draft, maybe because he was "not tall enough, not strong enough, and not fast enough". He went on to play with the Cleveland Browns in 2004 and the Detroit Lions in 2005. In 2006, Garcia led the Philadelphia Eagles to the playoffs before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2007, leading them to the playoffs and making his fourth career Pro Bowl appearance. Jeff’s always believed that it's not the physical measurements of the person but the size of the heart, the knowledge, and the will to work that helps determine the results. He has mentored young QBs at all levels, including the NFL and has coached with the Montreal Alouettes and St. Louis Rams. He’s utilized his professional accomplishments on the field as a springboard to help give back and support others. Whether out of his own pocket or through the various works with The Garcia Pass It On Foundation, The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, or other partnering organizations, he has been instrumental in helping to provide educational support through scholarships, shelter and care support for the abused and abandoned, medical support through various cancer research centers and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as facility upgrades in his home town of Gilroy, Gilroy High School, Gavilan Junior College, and San Jose State University respectively. Millions of dollars have gone out to support these causes that have touched the Garcia Family's heart. Jeff currently works as an analyst for NBC Sports Bay Area covering the 49ers pre and post-game show and resides in North San Diego with his four young and active children; Presley, Jason, Jax and Faith.
