Registration for Takaball League clubs for the 2024-2025 season is open. Membership registration is free and gets you access to activities and events run by the club you register with. Club members will collectively organize their club's activities through the season and members are responsible for covering their club's expenses. Clubs are intended to work towards building up to putting a competitive team together for the first Takaball League season being planned for the 2026 season by offering recreational takaball programs to introduce people to playing takaball in 2024 and 2025 and if a club has enough players who want to play competitively prior to the start of official Takaball League competition then some exhibition games and tournaments between clubs can be organized to provide an earlier opportunity for competitive play.

Takaball is a game invented by Joel Waddell where 2 teams play against each other trying to get into their opponent's endzone with a frisbee by passing and running with the frisbee without getting tagged by an opponent then, after entering the endzone with the frisbee, picking up a ball from their opponent's endzone and trying to bring it to their endzone by passing and running with the ball without getting tagged by an opponent. Joel called the game takaball because his last name, Waddell, has origins with viking connections and the English word "retrieve" translated to Old Norse is "taka" and points are scored by retrieving a ball.
