Usually, Waddell Games focuses more on new games invented by Joel Waddell while trying to use these games as a platform to contribute to the needs of others, but Joel also played 5 years of minor hockey in Tiverton, Ontario and, now living in the GTA, continues to play hockey recreationally as an adult. Playing Local League hockey for Tiverton, Joel got the experience of playing for a team representing a community and noticed a big difference between that and playing at the same location every week on a team that doesn't really represent a community. He also noticed that, unless you're good enough to play at a professional level, there aren't many opportunities to play hockey on a team representing a community and, after learning how House League hockey works in the city, he realized that many hockey players never had the opporunity to play on this kind of team. Having the experience of both regular recreational hockey, and representing a community, and believing that representing a community makes the experience much better, Joel decided to start a new recreational hockey league under Waddell Games to give people the opportunity to have a hockey experience they haven't had the opportunity for in the past.
