Girls Lacrosse Final - A thriller!

Tuesday 5/1 What a thriller! 

The Priory girls earned a second league win, in as many games. Priory led 5-1 in the first 10 minutes, when...(blink)...Mercy scored 3x in less than 1 minute to come within 1.

The teams then traded goals (1 each in the last minute of the half), and were tied 8-all at halftime.

After half, they traded 3 more goals apiece; with 7:33 left, Mercy tied it up at 11-all. With a critical save, good possession, and very patient offense, Priory scored in the final minute of the game to win the game. Awesome team effort, once again!

Tomlinson led the scoring on the night, with 8 goals and one assist.

On Friday, March 2, 19 players headed to San Jose to play at Lincoln HS (at the very same time as girls basketball competed and won their CCS championship)! It was the very first game in Lincoln's history, and they jumped right out to a 1-0 lead, scoring off the opening draw. 
Goals were traded from that point on, until halftime, when Priory had built a 9-5 lead. Things got exciting when Lincoln tied it up at 11-all, with 9:32 left to play.  In those final minutes, 2 unassisted goals by Cate Tomlinson gave Priory the lead, and the insurance goal to preserve their first regular season victory. Tomlinson led the scoring on the night, with 8 goals and one assist.

Seniors Lena Bhagat and Casey Walsh each netted 2, and Olivia Flynn scored one. 4 of the goals were assisted, by Tomlinson, Walsh, Ada Fathers and Vivian Chuang, Playing in their first game (ever) were 8 newcomers (1 soph, and 7 frosh), and 11 returners. Final score: Priory 13, Lincoln 11
