Rogers Rookie Tour '19
Athabasca's 3rd annual Rogers Rookie Tournament will take place this year earlier than usual so our players can get a chance to compete before they head off for Summer break.
The date is
set for Saturday, May 11th.
This
includes all beginners that wants to play in their very first tournament. It is a
fun day and every player will play at least 3 games. Games are
short timed games and rules for serving aren't as strict as the emphasis is on match play, rallying and getting to know the rules and using our best sportsmanship skills.
Should you be able to volunteer that day as a scorekeeper, to bbq hotdogs or to set up - please email Marié at
[email protected].

Windscreens are coming!
As you know we took on a fundraising project so we can put up windscreens at the tennis courts. A total of $1005 was raised from the Bottle Drive in Fall '18. We would like to thank Chett and Kathi Gilmore, Sheri Neaves and the Athabasca Vet Clinic for their big contributions. We'd like to thank all the volunteers that came out to help that day.
We just got news this week that the Rotary Club is donating $2500 and we would like to thank Dr. Wally Cummings for his generous help in this!
The windscreens will be ordered in the next couple days and we are looking forward to play on fancy looking courts with way less wind!
