Our Distinguished Speaker – Kathy Carter, President of Soccer United Marketing (SUM)
In 2012, Forbes Magazine called Kathy Carter, “one of the most powerful women in sports.” As president of SUM, she oversees all commercial and marketing aspects of the business for Major League Soccer (MLS), U.S. Soccer and all of its National Teams, the Mexican National Team, and others. Carter is a recipient of both the Sports Business Journal and Crain's New York Business Forty Under 40 awards, as well as the 2009 Women in Sports and Events (WISE) award. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Carter was a starting goalkeeper on their nationally ranked woman's soccer team. Carter resides in New York City.
