Planet Ethos, the First Black Owned Esports and Entertainment Agency and Academy is Here!!

Video gaming has become one of the fastest-growing sports and now Esports has developed into nearly a 200 Billion dollar industry.  Racial disparities and a lack of mentorship have caused Black youth to fall behind in getting their fair share but a recent surge around the world is responding to make sure that there is a dynamic shift towards diversifying the gaming industry.

Planet Ethos, the first Black-owned Esports and Entertainment Agency and Academy have recently opened a chapter in Buffalo, NY  to make sure that Black gamers and content creators in WNY get their chance to capitalize off their talents.  They are actively seeking players in gaming and musicians to represent so that they can assist them in establishing their careers in the dynamic world of Esports.  There is a vast amount of jobs, careers, and opportunities in esports beyond gaming, and colleges and universities are rapidly creating courses and facilities to handle the demand, especially HBCUs. What is most exciting is that they are not only teaching the next generation of leaders in Esports, colleges and universities are now enticing talents to attend their schools with full and partial scholarships, just like traditional sports such as football and basketball.   Planet Ethos’s academy, Esports Mentoring,  is developing both players and coaches for the college and the professional ranks. They meet on Saturday mornings inside “The Command Center” and online during the week with Black Esport Coaches.  If parents are interested in signing their children up in the Esports mentoring program, visit www.esportsmentoring.com or on social media @Esportsmentoring.

Every parent will be invited to join the Parents Esports Committee, which is a support group for parents to learn about the opportunities in gaming.  They get an opportunity to work with instructors weekly to develop strategies for their children to qualify for college scholarships. 

Recently, a team was created to compete locally and online with some of the best players in the area called “The Buffalo Black Panthers”.  On March 28th, they competed in the Bryant & Stratton Esports Tournament. They played against the area’s top talent and two of their student-athletes left as winners in Fortnite and Madden Football. 

Planet Ethos is now offering Esports tournaments with prizes to the entire community.  Last week on April 10th they hosted a “Call of Duty” competition and the winners received PlayStation gift cards which were donated by Saditty Queen.  Starting May 1st, there will be an NBA 2K Tournament available to players 18 years and up and they can begin the registration process by going to www.2kchampionship.com
