About Us

Welcome to Florida State College at Jacksonville and BlueWave Athletics

The BlueWave Athletics Department is proud to feature 6 teams: baseball, men’s and women's basketball, softball, cross country and volleyball. After the 2015-16 academic year, 18 student-athletes went on to play at a higher level (NCAA or NAIA). In addition to a legacy of competitive teams that compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association, we also have a strong history of achieving great academic success.

In 2015-16, 27 of our student-athletes made the All-Academic Team for the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) with a 3.30 GPA or higher. Twenty of these student-athletes then went on to make the All-Academic National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) team with a 3.5 or higher GPA. Additionally, our baseball team was second in the state with a cumulative team GPA of 3.27.

This year, we implemented a BlueWave Life Skills program to enhance student-athlete success. The program focuses on five areas: academic success, athletic success, community service, personal development and career/financial success.
