Thank you!!
It has been a blast to watch all of you grow as players!
I hope you enjoyed this season as much as the coaches
enjoyed working with you.
- -Everyone on this team has skill and a deep desire
to learn
-Everyone
has strong character and strong decision-making abilities
-Every
one of you excite us as you improve week to week
As we enter our final event of the season we begin with an
exciting rematch. A chance to test
ourselves versus a team we lost to in a mid-season tournament final. A
game where we did not play the way we could or should have. One where we got distracted. Where we started making excuses, questioning
calls and sometimes even retaliating after a foul or something an opponent said
to us. We ran into obstacles and rather than adapt to
find success we kept trying the same things over and over, getting frustrated, blaming
each other and even getting a yellow and then a red card.
Now we have a second chance at this. An opportunity to test what we can do. To demonstrate our skills, our character,
our team’s ability and unity. I ask
that everyone playing in the first game to please show up rested. Show up with the proper attitude. Show up ready to have fun. Don’t
worry about the age of some of their players. That will only distract us. Don’t
listen to anything an opponent might say to try and upset you. Ignore them completely. If
you are fouled, show restraint knowing that you are benefiting your team by remaining
calm. If we show up and play the way we can play, we
will have success. If we get
frustrated. If we are predictable. If we get distracted. If we retaliate on fouls and words. Then we let down our team and fail to play the best we can play. None of
us want that.
Thank you for your hard work !!!
Let’s all enjoy this final event of our season and show
everyone our best.
Leave each match knowing you gave your all and
showed the highest levels of sportsmanship doing it.
Thank you,
Coach O’Neal
