With our 2019-2020 Player Evaluations complete, Nirvana North has formed teams from U8 through U18 but we will still be hosting open workouts for a few select roster spots. Nirvana North is an all girls premier soccer organization that takes pride in putting our players first. This philosophy runs throughout our club but is truly put on display with our U8 girls academy. In our region U8 soccer is generally played from September through June and is always played Coed. Many clubs put development ahead of result and we are no different there. What makes our U8 program different is that it is all girls, all the time. We have seen and understand that girls develop differently than boys, communication is different, attention span is different and while skill development is important, building their confidence is paramount. That is what our academy is all about. Please see our Nirvana Player Path for more information. Our season starts in September with outdoor skill development Saturdays. These sessions are designed to introduce the girls to their teammates, coaches, play outdoors and work on basic foot skills, techniques that go with passing and shooting and some basic game play. Starting in November our program moves to Sportsplex in Halfmoon. Our Sparks will practice one night during the week and will continue to develop their skills. An enjoyable part of our Nirvana Family is that players from our older teams often come to help with our indoor sessions because they are usually in the facility for their games and practices as well. We know our future stars love seeing the older players. On Saturdays throughout the winter, our girls will play in games. These games are short 25 minute 4v4 games on half of the field. Our plan is to divide our academy into groups, that way our girls only play against girls, no Coed, but they get to compete in game jerseys and against a new group each week. Each group will get two games each Saturday for about an hour of play. In the Spring, the Sparks move back outside to Burnt Hills HS, home for all ages of Nirvana training. The Sparks will continue to practice once a week and we are going to leave their game and tournament schedule flexible until we see the progression of our group. Our older U8 travel girls may have the opportunity to see what the following season brings with some U10 action, we have also already located girls on U8 tournaments and we will also continue to play each other throughout the spring. We fully understand that September to June is a long commitment so we have divided the program into two sessions. The first session is from September through the holidays and then session two will start in January and run through the end of school. The $600.00 fee for our U8 Sparks program will also be divided so families are not locked in for both sessions. The fee covers all indoor and outdoor field time. It also includes the players practice and game shirts, registration and insurance with our Nirvana organization. The only potential additional cost would be our spring game/tournament schedule as we said, we are keeping that a bit flexible. Each session of the Sparks will be $275.00 and the uniform fee of $50.00 will only be paid once, if you play both sessions, which is our hope. Our coaches are certified, and have completed all US Club Soccer necessary training and background checks. The future is bright for Nirvana Soccer and our Sparks will lead the way. U10 and U12 (Birth years from 2008 to 2011) will be held on June 10th and 17th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. U14 and older (Birth year 2007 and older) will also be held on June 10th and 17th, their session will be from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. All sessions are once again being held at Watervliet High School. If you are unable to attend either day please sign up anyway and note this in your registration comments. We will contact you and invite you an open practice to conduct your evaluation on a different night.
