Winter League Team Assignments: What Does It Mean?

Winter League Players,

Now that players have been assigned to the winter league teams by Coach Muzingo, I am hearing that some of you are trying to read into what it all means.  Let me help you, especially if you are new to winter league.  

Coach Muzingo purposely split the teams to make sure that one team isn't full of "varsity" players or one team isn't full of "JV" players.  She also told me that just because someone played varsity last year doesn't guarantee them a spot on varsity this year.

So here is my advice:

1) Make the most of your opportunities during winter league (Coach attends and takes notes)

2) Make the most of your opportunities in off-season open practice sessions

3) Worry about yourself and not others i.e. hold yourself accountable

4) Be a good teammate and be encouraging to them

5) Get in the weight room
