What is SUL?
Southwestern United League (SUL) is an adult
basketball league located in Albuquerque NM. We provide an environment that
supports camaraderie, competition, and community.
FAQ’s
1) How many seasons in SUL?
February
(spring) and September (fall).
2) When does the season start?
Spring: February 23rd,
2019. Fall: September 7th, 2019
3) How many games are there in a season?
There are a guaranteed 7 games minimum.
4) Where are the games played?
In Albuquerque
NM. Arena will be announced soon
5) How much does it cost to join SUL as a team?
The fee for 5x5 is $545.
(Minimum 7 games guaranteed)
This includes:
$495 - League fee (Non-Refundable)
$50 – Uniforms (Jersey and Shorts). Non-Refundable
The fee for 3x3 is $275.
(Minimum 4 games guaranteed)
This
includes: $250 - League fee (Non-Refundable);
$25 – Uniforms (Jersey and Shorts)
6) How much is it to join
SUL as a FREE AGENT?
$70.00 deposit for the 5x5 and $55.00 for 3x3 games. The league
commissioner will contact you if additional fees/payment are required. Once the
first game as a free agent is played, there will be no refunds issued.
7) When are league fees due?
Dues need to be submitted for payment two
weeks before the League starts.
8) Who can play in the SUL?
Any one
18 years of age or older can play.
9) What do we get for winning the league?
SUL apparel and a Champion's Trophy.
The spring Season winner will face the Fall season winner for the SUL
championship of the year.
10) Can professional
athletes play in the league?
Yes, pro players can play
in the league.
11) Are
there any other fees?
Yes. On every 5x5 game each team will contribute
$20 and on every 3x3 game each team will contribute $10 toward referee payment. This fees must be paid before the game starts.
12) Can
I play both on the 5x5 and also 3x3 leagues?
Yes, you can. The 3x3
registration fee applies.
13) My team already have uniforms, Can I only pay the league fee ?
YES, If you have your own team uniform, the uniform fee will be deducted.
14) Why is the Albuquerque Bullsnakes Professional
Basketball Involved in this league?
The ABQ Bullsnakes is sponsoring the event. At the end of each league season an All Star Team will be
selected among the best league players. These players will be playing an exhibition
game against the ABQ Bullsnakes Professional Basketball Team. Some All Star players will be invited
to play with the Bullsnakes in the ABA (American Basketball Association).
