MULE DAYS 2026

🐴 Save the Date — Family Ranch Morning

During Bishop Mule Days week we’ll be opening Double L Ranch for a relaxed morning visit for local and visiting families.

Many children love horses but have never had the chance to safely meet one up close. This is a simple opportunity to come to the ranch, see how the animals are cared for, and learn what beginner riding lessons actually look like.

Kids will be able to meet our horses and mules, watch grooming demonstrations, and ask questions. No riding experience is needed, and there is no cost to attend.

We’ll share the exact date and time as we get closer, but we wanted families planning their Mule Days week to keep it in mind.

If your child has ever wondered what it would be like to be around horses, this is a great place to start.

About Us

Located just north of Bishop, California in the beautiful Eastern High Sierra, Double L Ranch is a safe and supportive place where children learn confidence, responsibility, and respect through working with horses and mules.

We specialize in beginner and youth riders, offering small-group and private lessons that focus on safety, horsemanship, and building real skills — both in and out of the saddle. Our instructor, Linda Laird, take a hands-on approach and work patiently with each child at their own pace.

At Double L, kids don’t just learn to ride. They learn how to care for an animal, develop independence, and grow self-confidence in a positive outdoor environment.

We invite your child to come meet the animals and try a complimentary evaluation lesson. Many families come for a first visit — and stay for years.
